We will work through two cases in depth and illustrate how and why the basic concepts reviewed in Part 1 (or during last year’s conference) apply in each case.** Participants will gain a framework for problem-solving and responding effectively to unique situations and cases.

RULER- Emotional Intelligence Skills and Anchor Tools with Dave Peters

This training explores the neuroscience behind emotions and self-regulation, equipping students and adults with strategies to enhance emotional intelligence using the RULER framework (developed by Marc Brackett and the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence). Participants will examine the brain’s stress response, co-regulation, and the role of relationships in learning. Using the PRIME framework, they’ll develop thought and action strategies to foster resilience, support well-being, and create emotionally intelligent individuals and environments.

A Multi-Systemic Approach to Community Wellness with David Lewis

In this workshop participants will learn about multisystemic approaches that are grounded in strengths-based principles and approaches that build on the community strengths and assets. Participants will leave with an increased ability to partner with community organizations (schools, CBO's, mental health providers, etc..) to effectively address the complex needs of children, adults, and families in our regions and increase their ability to implement evidence-based rapport building strategies such as motivational interviewing, person centered approaches, and solution focused goal setting. In addition, Participants will be introduced to tools that allow for the implementation of care coordination principles, and lead to the mitigation of risk factors as they are replaced with protective factors (for individuals and the broader community).
